MADRA 2015-2016 AGM

MADRA held their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 20th April, and we are pleased to welcome back Tom Joseph as President, Lesley Chan Herlihy as Treasurer and Brian Herlihy as Secretary for the coming year! Our other committee members for this year are Graeme Bushby, Sandy Wallis, Sam Musso and Lesley Merrett.

Over the past year MADRA has organized the 4th annual Mernda Community Fair, and assisted with the Diwali – The festival of lights in Mernda and the Mernda Christmas Carols. We have also auspiced a council grant for the U-Kan-Uke Ukelele group, and lobbied for a number of local issues including footpaths on Bridge Inn Rd, the proposed E6 freeway, surfacing of Regent St, and against the demolition of the Schulz farmhouse in Woolert.

We have hosted Darren Peters of the Mernda and South Morang Rail Alliance; Inspector Paul Tysoe and Senior Sargeant Glenn Parker; and Cr. Ricky Kirkham at our meetings.

We would like to thank our outgoing long-serving President Michael Bradley and Treasurer Warrick Peters, and the entire MADRA executive team, members and volunteers who have worked hard over the last year to make Mernda a better place to live for all of us!
