2013 Mernda Community Fair

MADRA residents gladly volunteered their time again in March 2013 to coordinate the 2nd annual Mernda Community Fair. The event included displays from over 40 local businesses, sports groups and schools with support from Bendigo Bank & City of Whittlesea & Stockland to the combined value of over $2,200.

Further local businesses provided “in kind support”: Bakers Delight, Optus, Blue Gem Events, Mernda Primary School, Mernda CFA, Mernda Village Community Activity Centre, Mr Colin Woods, Stockland, Jay Reynolds Trucking, Ivanhoe Grammar & Bertocci Meats to the value of over $3,000.

The Mernda Community Fair expenses were over $5,700 with expenses met by the regular BBQ fund-raising events held by MADRA personnel throughout the calendar year.

We wish to sincerely thank all who have been involved.

There are no plans to operate the Mernda Community Fair in 2014, however alternative events will be coordinated on a smaller scale, with the specific intention to provide opportunity for residents to get to know others in their neighbourhood.
